Study USA Insurance
Plan Description
The Study USA plan is an affordable comprehensive plan for students around the world.
International students in the US below age 66 on valid visas registered in US universities
as full time students or scholars engaged in research are eligible to purchase the
plan. The plan is also available to American students registered with a US school
and engaged in educational activities abroad. Dependants of the student can apply
for coverage along with the student.
The Study USA insurance plan offers renewable coverage as long as the student meets
eligibility requirements. The Study USA insurance is specially designed for students
studying outside their home country. The plan meets most university and government
requirements making it an ideal choice for J1 visa holders and for students looking
to waive out of the university health insurance plan.
The Study USA plan offers coverage for doctor visits, hospitalization, prescriptions,
medical tests, medical evacuation and repatriations. Maternity coverage is offered
by the plan as long as conception occurs after the purchase. Mental health coverage
is also offered.
Why do you need Study USA Insurance?
Students and other young people are usually quite healthy so they try to save money
by not purchasing student health insurance. This is the biggest mistake they can
make. United States probably has the best helath care in the world and also the
most costliest. Lack of any publicly funded health care means the person has to
pay for any medical expense out of their own pocket. Just one hospitalization or
ER visit can rack up a bill in thousands of dollars and ruin your credit. This can
be easily avoided by purchasing a relatively inexpensive student insurance like
the Study USA insurance for international students.
Eligibility for Study USA Insurance?
The Study USA Plan is available to both US as well as non US citizens who meet the
following criteria -
- An American student, below the age of 66, who is registered in an American school,
college or university and is pursuing academics in a foreign country
- A foreign student under the age of 66, holding a valid US study visa, and enrolled
in an academic endeavor in a registered US school or college/university.
- The spouse and children, aged 18 and under, of the above mentioned students can
also be enrolled in the plan along with the student, or within 31 days of birth,
marriage, legal adoption or arrival in the country. The student must be covered
under the plan if coverage is required for the dependants.
